The Trophy Wives Prep Program

The Trophy Wives Prep Program, Porterville Community College. 2022

The Trophy Wives Prep Program, presented as a fictional preparatory curriculum, introduced a cast of named figures — Ku Klux Karen, Candy the Capitalist, Dolores the Dominionist, and others — each a Campus Cutie mounted on a gold trophy base and awarded for embodying a distinct mode of complicity, denial, or harm. The work examined how identities are formed through learned behaviors, aspirational roles, and systems of reward, asking viewers to consider the often-invisible processes through which power reproduces itself — and who gets celebrated for carrying it forward.
